BMW 6 Series:
BMW 6 Series Coupé and Convertible: Now with a new V8 power
unit.
The new BMW 4.8-litre eight-cylinder developing maximum output of 270 kW/367
hp and maximum torque of 490 Nm/361 lb-ft has been carried over from the BMW
750i and is now also featured in the BMW 6 Series Coupé and Convertible.
Appropriately named the “BMW 650i”, these two new models replace
their previous BMW 645Ci counterparts.
Enhanced performance on even less fuel.
Developing an extra 25 kW/34 hp, the new BMW 650i Coupé accelerates to
100 km/h in just 5.4 seconds, its open-air sister model completing the same
exercise in an equally dynamic 5.7 seconds. Top speed of both models is limited
electronically to 250 km/h or 155 mph.
Despite this remarkable performance, the new eight-cylinder Coupé consumes
just 11.9 ltr/100 km (23.7 mpg Imp), while the 650i Convertible is almost equally
reasonable with average fuel consumption of 12.9 ltr/100 km (21.9 mpg Imp).
Only the two new paintwork colours – Monaco Blue and Barbera Red –
as well as new 19-inch wheels with different-sized tyres (245/40 R 19 at the
front, 275/35 R 19 at the rear) show the connoisseur that these are BMW’s
two new 650i models.

The most striking new features inside, in turn, are the new Black colour world,
the new design of the iDrive Controller, as well as the Start/Stop button on
the instrument panel. Comfort Access, finally, is available as an option.
It almost goes without saying that the two BMW 650i models come with the latest
generation of DSC Dynamic Stability Control boasting a whole range of new safety
functions.
