e30 offset question
«
on:
February 23, 2006, 02:49:19 am »
could anyone tell me if 45 offset 15x5.5" rims will fit a e30 323i
my standard rims are 14x6 with a 35 offset and they also come with 14x6.5
and i think the ix is 41 offset 15x6.5 or 15x7
by my calculations the rim will sit 2.75mm closer to the strut because of more offset but less rim width
if you have rims on your car could you let me know what size/width/offset they are so i can get a idea of what will
fit
thanks

The 15x7" e41 offset wheels won't fit on standard E30s, so I'm pretty certain you'll have troubles with 15x5.5" e45 wheels. Tires make a big difference as well no two brands are exactly the same width for a given size.
The only way to be absolutely certain is to try them but I don't think they are going to fit without spacers. If you really like the wheels, you can get 10mm hubcentric(regular ones wont work as they will leave the wheels off center and hopping all over the road) spacers to make them fit.

yeah if i remember right the e30 all share a 20 offset(higher for the ix), so unfortunately in most cases your gonna have to run a spacer to fit any kind of aftermarket rims
