650i wheels and tires... what's a good choice?

Hi all,
a question for the community, I don't know the answer to this one.
I got a mail from Bob, he is concidering buying a 650i with sports package, here's his question:
"I have a deal working on a 650 coupe that has a sport package option. Two questions: 1) are the narrow shadow wheels and tires so susceptible to road harzards that I should be concerned under normal driving circumstances; and 2) is the ride with a sport package, comfort wise, that much different than a unit without the sport package?"
I did know an answer to the sports package option, which doesn't change the comfort of the drive, other that the bigger wheels underneath the car...
Any answers to the first question? Or maybe additions to the second one?
Thanks, also from Bob

-19 x 8.5 front, 19 x 9.0 rear Ellipsoid (Styling 121) cast alloy wheels, 245/40R-19 front, 275/35R-19 rear performance run-flat tires*
*Low-profile tires and wheels are susceptible to road hazard and consequential damage
yeah was checking on the bmw main page, yeah i understand what Bob was looking at
since the tires are low profile, if you were to hit a big enough pot hole in the road there would be damage to the mag, but that runs the same for any low profile setup
happened to me and many of my friends in montreal, gonna have to be careful
under normal use and smooth enough roads Bob will have no problem with the setup, if worse comes to worse he can always make a request with the dealer to just supply regular tires for the car instead of low profiles
hope this helps ilir, if anything just hit me up again

First off I am insanely jealous of the 650i. Sweet ride. I have an 03 325i with sport package. The ride is different than the regular ride. I wouldn't change mine for the world, but it depends on your taste and driving style. If you are a spirited driver, then the sport suspension makes sense. However, if you are going A to Z in style, then you really don't need it IMO. As for the low profiles, I love them. With that said, you have to be careful not to hit potholes, curbs, or small rodents. Be careful though, the dealer might want to charge you to swap these out. Remember you are trading in an upgrade for a standard option. They should actually give you money. I expect to see pictures within 30 minutes of reading this post. Congrats on the car.

I don't think it has other suspension, official BMW site says they both have the same (sports) suspension....

I am not a big car fan, but that thing is just sexy. I drove one during the "drive for a cure event" this past year. AMAZING car. This car demonstrates what I love about BMW, balance. It is a big car and is as nimble and balanced as they come IMO. I also drove a 745, but I was real careful with that one. This too was an amzing car for the size.

Thanks to all who offered a comment on the sport package and wheels with low profile tires.
I did a lot of checking, especially locally, on low profile tires, and finally decided to bag 'em. On Friday afternoon I ordered a 650Ci coupe with no sport package (note: even with no sport package they all have sport suspension). The car that I will have delivered in about 6 weeks will be black saphire metallic with black leather interior. Can hardly wait (though I have been driving a 645 for the past 13 months).
Again, many thanks to all for taking the time and your interest in helping me out. And a special thanks to Ilir. You were most kind. I hope that the weather improves for you. It's gettin worse here by the day.

here is a vanity plate for you...... 10 2 7 ci read 10 till 7 ci, or 650ci We need pix of this wonderful machine. love the color choice. My past three cars have been black. Yes it is a pain to keep up with, but a car should be detailed no matter what color it is.
