Ride 1: 2005 545i

I recently purchased a CPO 2005 545i and have had a great deal of difficulty trying to smoothly stop the car. It seems the brakes just kind of "grab" at about 2 MPH and it's like I'm learning to drive all over again. Has anyone else ever heard of this problem? Any solutions? Let me know!

Well, I've had a job (next to my studies) as a private chauffeur...
You always have to get used to a car, its clutch and brakes.
Just practice a little bit, brake the car hard, and then just at the end slide your foot gently off (find the point where it "grabs").
What were you used to drive in?

I was, (and still am) driving an E36 M3. The problem isn't related to a new car phenomonon, in the E60 forum, there has been an ongoing thread about this issue. BMW seems to think that a software update will fix the problem, but there are many people that are going through this infuriating little issue. It seems to be with the 545i and has something to do with the transmission downshifting according to the computer and it just suddenly "grabs" causing all occupants to lurch forward. I don't know about the rest of you, but my wife, who has a sensitive stomach, is nearly sickened every time we go out for a drive.

On Bimmerforums someone says that the problem was fixed when the software was updated, but also says that it might return in a few months... Sad

But nothing more than you found on e60 forums (found the thread you were in), hope you'll get your car back fixed and well...
Sorry, dunno how to help on this one, I think this is where the dealer comes in... Good Luck!
