Hi I have just got a 120d es, it has got a multifunction steering wheel with two phone buttons.

These buttons dont work,

I guess it is because the stereo is too basic, but I was wandering if anyone knows how to get these buttons to work with my phone,

I have tried searching for bluetooth with my phone but there is nothing there,

Do I need to put in a new stereo with bluetooth capabilitys or can I a buy an add on unit.

Thanks in advance

Matt

Hi Matt,
Congrats on your new BMW!

The stereo you're describing probably doesn't support Bluetooth, it's an option on the 1 series.
If you want to use bluetooth, you can either get the GSM-package for your car (coded #644 at the 1 series option list) or you can buy a generic bluetooth carkit for your mobile phone (i.e. CK-7W for Nokia...)
Try your local BMW dealer, but don't expect it to be cheap... Sad

yeah unless it has the updated stereo your out of luck

i know bavauto.com has kits for other models(only north american models Cry ), but unless you can find a local supplier(speed shop/ performance shop near you), your best bet is to searh on ebay for generic kits, or for the upgraded radio

should run you about 120-150 can dollars(not sure in euro) for the generic kit, and around 300-500can for the radio

let us know where your from so we can give you a hand to find a reasonable location near you cool
