Rumours go that BMW is going to build a new M1, that they will hopefully call the M135i....
This new M1(35i) will probably not be powered by the 6cyl S54 from the 'old' M3, but will be getting some other engine (maybe the N54 twin turbo from the 335i?).
The old M3 engine doesn't fit the CO2 norm for new cars, and it will probably be too big a hassle to revamp it.
There will be 3 versions of the new M1(35i); a coupe (with a GTR version), a cabrio and a touring.

i've got nothing here from bmw north america

mind you we still don't have the 1 series here yet  tickedoff, lol
