Don't think you're right on that one...
The 320i e21 was built between 1975 - 1977 and had a 4 cyl 2 liter engine (M10), with a 240 getrag gearbox.
BUT: Melody is talking about a 320i from 1981, which was never built, so probably it is a 320 (without i) from 1981, which was built between 1977 - 1982, having a 6 cyl 2 liter engine (M20), with probably a 260 getrag gearbox!

damn nice job, looking good

as for a turbo, look at the t3/t4, good up to about 500 hp, mind you, you should only be trying to push 280/300 max on stock internals

if you need any help with the turbo set up lemme know, i've got all the parts laying around my place

Still got dem turbo parts laying around  cool

nothing much so far...changing course of action a lil bit.  Have you heard of fords EDIS? its their ignition system, basically individual coil packs! its a very popular mod on the m10 engines, very easy to incorporate.  im going to be adapting that system to my car to get rid of the distributor; also im goin to be using MEGASQUIRT as my ecu its more programable/tunable than the safc that i mentioned before.  also im goin to be doin individual throttle bodies  Evil BUT a turbo is definately in the near future!  ITBs something like this... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/BMW-M10-Independant-Throttle-body-Intake-Manafold_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33623QQihZ013QQitemZ230018706933QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW

i researched hell of a lot on the edis, im pretty much gonna take the system off a 90s escort (EDIS-4).  also there is EDIS-6 and EDIS-8. you will need the edis unit, the trigger wheel (36-1), and the VR sensor.  megasquirt helps with the advance and retard

http://www.megamanual.com/ms2/EDIS.htm

what you all think?

sounds great... the megasquirt system is a great tool, i've been reading up on for a while, i've been running the megatune program for a while on some test cars and so far so good!!

apart from that the set up looks great, you can also check out nissan, it uses a similar system on the pulsar(close to edis)

looking good!!

Hi,

Having problems with the power winodws in my 1984 BMW 318i. They were working one day fine. Then the next day they were not working at all both windows. I have check my manual for the car but it lists nothing for the fuse that operates the power windows. If any one has any information about what fuse it would be or any other suggestions for things that I should check I would greatly appreciate the help.

Thank you,

Lori

Yea if it is working one day fine, and then the next not working at all...i think you may have blown a fuse.  it should be fuse #17. it is a green 30amp fuse (or should be) if you need help finding it i can send a diagram but if you still have your fuse cover its labled.  Also make sure you do not have the window lock on  Cheesy

Bak again  Wink  This time im very close to my goal.  Work/School is crazy  Cheesy  but any who, i finally purchased megasquirt w/edis, T3 turbo and walboro 255lph.  Now i have to source a manifold...i had an adaptor thingy but i sold it; i was thinking i could get an actual manifold  Cry.   so now thats the only thing stopping me once again.  But i mad mods to the intake.  Port matched a 325i TB on it, and a schrick 292 cam.  These two things alone makes my car faster than it ever was  Evil  (currently driving with this setup)  Also i redid my funky interior to black.  here are some pics of my mods

forgot to mention the bumper tuck thingy

um...yea look at the stock 318i tb, the gsxr tb, and the 325i tb...

i love head!

Shcrick is da man!

Some assembly required...

as with these as well...

open wide

Nice adaptor...

I think ima make a new post with the new seats and turbo things + status

well as of right now im going to boost it to the stock waste gate setting 8.3psi.  But after i tune i probably wont boost more than 14psi.  Also i think im going to pick up another engine; one from either a 2002 or 320i.  they have the forged rods and crank (opposed to my cast iron) and with that crank i will have 2.0L displacement which isnt bad.  Ill run my motor till it blows  Evil then put the 02' in may build it up too.  I can get a turbo manifold welded for me but i dont have 350 at the moment  buck Theres one guy that is using that crank in his engine and bored out the block to 91mm with custom pistons (2.1L).  Everything else is pretty much stock.  Using Megasquirt, 26+ psi boost, and 50shot nitrous...hes pushing 359rwhp  cool and i think high 11s low 12s.  i would imagine traction would be a major problem  Roll Eyes

well, as with most projects this is, of course, an on going project!!

i decided to update (as of 04/07):

As you may or may not know, ive had some very bad head cracking problems...so this was the outcome:

420.00USD later...

For those who are not aware, i have been having real bad luck with the m10 heads. i went through 3 of them and finally one that isnt CRACKED!! now i can continue with my proj...I am removing the old Jetronic ECU and installing megasquirt with edis. Im now in the process of just putting everything back on. Any tips on tuning? i know its better to start from scratch...

Head Mods:
Beadblasted chambers, valves, ports
Heat tanked
Milled .007"
New Seals
IE DUAL VALVE SPRINGS w/modded stock retainers and seats = higher red line  Evil Evil
Schrick 292 CAM

Stock bottom end

Stock 5spd Tranny w/325i clutch

EMS: Megasquirt V2.2 w/EDIS

After some tunage i may go FI

Megasquirt stuff:

M10 FTW!!

But thats not all...

(11/07) redid my bumpers with an addition of a lower lip spoiler...wat ya think?

I also acquired a nice set of basket weaves

i also got 4.10 non-lsd  Cry but i like it better than the 3.64 non-lsd  cool police

In conjunction with the engine mods, i got a 4 24lb cobra injectors, a bma equal length header put on  Evil but thats not the end of it!!

i know i know, i keep talking about the snail, but its inevitable!!!! dont believe me:

NOW ALL I NEED IS SOME MORE TIME AND A TURBO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(back at school)

hi! nice to see that you're still busy on your car...
Too bad my technological vocabulary is very limited, and I can only understand about half of what you did (but that's my bad Wink).
Bout the front spoiler... don't really like the silver... looks like something 's missing...?
I'm looking forward to see the car completed Smiley... have fun!
