I have recently changed from a 2000 318 ci 1.9 to a 320 ci 2.2 and it slower !!!! I'm considering having it chipped or re-mapped to increase the performance. Does anyone know where in the North West is the best place to get it done ?

Hi Mike,
strange that your 320ci is slower than the 318ci... That shouldn't be the case (click here for comparison)

You could try a BMW tuner (like AC Schnitzer) for chip tuning, they should have chips available.
Don't know where you can get them in the US, I'm from Holland Smiley

Hi Keith...
The 320ci is also a 6cylinder engine, so if there's a good chip for the 325ci, there should be one for the 320ci as well (?)

Hello to all

An atmosferic engine can be chipped but it will give you only arround 6 HP more. For Chipping are
only the turbo engines. There u can get with a chip some more HP out from the engine.

I would say that if you get yourself a professional exhaust system than u can get some 20 HP more.
But not with an chip. And also by polishing the inlet manifold you can gain some 5 HP more.
The atmosferic engine will get more HP only with seriouse mechanical operations. Buying and install a chip is throwing away money.
Trust me on this one.
