I am a gadget freak when it comes to cars, especially BMW.

I was wondering if anyone who has i-drive with or without DVD nav... what do you think about it? Why did you order it with it and does it add to the driving experience?

Any thoughts will be welcomed.

RT, to be honest, Ive driven a 7 series e65 once, and didn't even touch the iDrive...
So I really cant help you out on that one.

I do know that BMW improves the iDrive-system all the time, so that users will be able to use the system easier, but still it's the most sophisticated piece of software that is available in current cars (I think).
Often people don't like it, but that might be because it's hard to get used to the "wheel"/controls or maybe because the system might be a little to advanced (as you might have seen in Top Gear where Jeremy Clarkson tests the new M5, where he can't decide how many seconds he wants the headlights to be on after the engine has been switched off).

Hope other ppl have some info for you.
What do you think of iDrive?
