Just a proto-type however after reading the article it appears BMW is going the cross-over route as SUV sales keep falling.

As for the "X6:" A better name for that body design is "Bangleblivet."

Don't believe any word in that story... that's why i didn't "copy" it Smiley...
Jalopnik is a big site, with a lot of untrue stories on it (a lot of true stories as well)

damn i saw this the other day on my local bmw site, thought it would have been true, ah well at least i didn't make an article out of it, lol

I live in SC near to a company that does a lot of the plastic molding for BMW grills.  The Z's and X's are built around 60 miles from here also.  Yesterday I saw this car on the road.  It was one of those taped up jobs with the corners covered in black plastic etc.  It was high up like an x5, but had a body more like a 6 series.  Anyway just wanted to confirm this rumor, don't know if it will be produced, but if it does will likely be built here.

Cool that you saw the prototype on the roads, BMW has shown a lot more of the X6, just as a prototype, but in the near future maybe as a production car!
